Firth River Trip
My husband and I just got back from a canoe trip on the Firth River in Ivvavik National Park, Yukon, Canada. It was a great trip, we had spectacular weather, great hiking, awesome views, and white-water that made me just nervous enough to have a blast! We were hoping to see the Porcupine caribou herd as it migrated back into Canada after calving in ANWR but we saw only footprints, poop, and some small shed antlers. We were also disappointed that we didn't see any musk ox. The day we paddled through the delta to the Beaufort Sea was our worst day of weather, rain and fog so no long distance views across the delta. We did see a wolf, moose, peregrine falcons, peregrine chicks, golden eagles, bald eagles, jaegers, arctic terns, plovers, and rough legged hawks and Pat got a good look through the binoculers of a wolverine! Not a bad wildlife viewing trip.
I have never seen peregrines and hawks so close. They would be perched on the top of the cliffs that were only 30 or 40 feet away or they would be flying above the canyon, it was really easy to pick them up in the binoculers for a really good view. The biggest surprise for me was the fishing! We caught (and released) monster arctic char and greyling cast after cast after cast. I am now a totally spoiled fisherwoman, if I don't catch a fish after 3 casts I'm ready to find a new spot! Here are some links to information about Ivvavik and the Firth River.
Ivvavik Natl. Park - the 3D tour is very nice.

I really like Zoho! It has a ton more functions than Google docs and is much easier to use, I look forward to exploring the other Zoho apps.

Wow, what a great trip that must have been!
Thanks for the pictures.
Because Google Docs is what the curriculum dept. uses I haven't spent a lot of time with ZOHO so I will have to take some time with it. One students started a doc in ZOHO, embeded it to her blog and then was able to edit it from there using ZOHO so there are some real different tools.
