Week 6 #13

Again with Internet searching, you have to be wary of what comes up in a search! Del.icio.us is better than just Googling with the amount of ridiculous sites that comes up but not everyone thinks the same tags are appropriate.

Still Del.icio.us is just that. I started an account for MearsLibrary to start moving all the different subject webpages that I have created into Del.icio.us. A group of middle school librarians in ASD were talking at one time about creating a district website of subject links that supported the curriculum, it could be done much easier with Del.icio.us. Teachers could create their own accounts and they could be added to the libraries, teachers could also subscribe to the RSS feed and see updates to the page. Lots of potential for all of those bookmarked sites.

Here is a link to the newly created MearsLibrary del.icio.us site:

I added Mear's Library to my network with the click of a button. Nice!

I think the ability to aggregate the teachers lists to the library one is a very powerful feature.

Heather - what a great idea. I will try the same thing with Hanshew.

That is a great thing to do for your library. That could be very useful. You rock!!!

Heather, you are brilliant! I really like how you bundled the tags to keep them organized for the students (and teachers). This is also a great way to introduce the technology to the Mears community, since so many people will use the resource. I think many people will be using this idea next year!

Thanks for sharing Heather this was a good idea. I am sure that many people will be taking advantage of the work you did. I am sure this will be useful to everyone.

Your del.icio.us page looks nice and has great links. This will be one of my first projects in the fall.
